That conversation took place a few weeks ago between Mia and one of her classmates, Jason, which proves to show that men have an innate ability to flirt. Although we consider Jason Mia's first boyfriend, Mia is quick to point out that he's NOT her boyfriend, he's only a friend. Funny, I don't get smitten when I'm in the presence of "just a friend". :)
Here's something weird surrounding Mia and preschool. When Dawn asked her teacher how she was doing, the teacher said that she's doing fine. The only thing she mentioned was that Mia was quiet. What?! Mia?! Quiet?! "Ms.-yelling-at-the-top-of-my-lungs-from-sun-up-to-sundown" was quiet? That was the 1st couple of weeks and I believe she came out of her shell since then, but I just found that funny that Mia was EVER quiet.
During the past 6 months or so, Mia has had trouble with her ears. The first time it occured, Dawn noticed that Mia wasn't responding to anything. I thought Mia was just playing around, being difficult and tried to tell Dawn not to worry. My opinion didn't ease her worries. So, she decided to take her in to see a doctor. After seeing 2 separate doctors, it turned out that Dawn wasn't crazy, and that Mia had, in fact couldn't hear 100%. She had fluid built up inside her ear, blocking sound from getting to her. After medication, it seemed to clear her up...
...until a couple of weeks ago. Mia is having difficulty hearing again. We're trying the medication again. If that doesn't work, we may have to insert tubes in her ears to drain the fluid.

I really can't believe how big she's getting. Last month, she started Kindergarten. It seems like yesterday, that she was an infant. Now, she's at the age where she can help Dawn and me take CARE of an infant. She happily runs to get diapers, wetwipes, and burp clothes for us when our hands are full. She's also great at soothing Owen when he needs his binky to be popped back into his mouth. Chloe is such a good sitter, Dawn and I are thinking about taking a week-long vacation somewhere while Chloe watches the kids. (Does DCFS have Internet Access to read this blog?)
Even though Chloe is only in Kindergarten, she gets daily homework, which usually involves learning how to identify and spell new words. Did you know that "Yellow" is spelled Y-E-L-L-O-W? No? Well, you do now. She loves to spell, which you can tell on her face whenever she spells something correctly. The pride that oozes out of her is precious. Her favorite game is to play "The Alphabet Game", which is when I tell her to name 5 things that begin with a particular letter. "B...Bastard, Butt, Bitch, Bullshit,...Balloon". We're so proud! :)
